The survey for people who make websites 2009
Whether you call yourself a user experience consultant, web developer, or content strategist; whether you design customer flows, buttons, or brands; no matter what title you hold as a full- or part-time web professional, your work shapes our future and ought to command the world's respect. But we won't win that respect without understanding, and we can't hope for understanding without data and the knowledge it reluctantly yields to the patient hand and steady eye.
For the good of our profession, take the survey and promote it, it's really useful to all of us at the end.
Check the findings of 2008 survey.

Egypt to unleash the first arabic webdomain
Congrats, this has been waited so long, finally Arabic web domains.
Egypt will open the world's first Arabic language internet domain, its communications minister has said.
Why this step was delayed till now ? here's why
Last month, internet regulator Icann voted to allow non-Latin web addresses. Domain names can now be written in Arabic, Chinese and other scripts.
I still don't know what will it exactly look like, we may learn about it the next few days hopefully but here is one example I found. http://حوراء.com, if anybody know other examples of Arabic domains please write it down in the comments
The big question is, Will we actually use this domains ? What is it's effect on SEO ? will it have any compatibility issues with different browsers or devices like mobiles etc..?

Wireless Electricity
Electricity is the only thing that can't be transfered wirelessly, take a look at your laptop or mobile phone and most probably you will not see any thing attached to it except electricity, this is not the case any more, take a look at this video.

Designing With Web Standards 3rd Edition
The first edition of Zeldman's book DWWS was my first step on the road of web standards, it's published 2003 , I read it 2005.
Toady after web 2.0 and after web standards is more familiar, alot of things has changed and a bunch of new standards and technologies are out there, Zeldman's 3rd edition of DWWS will cover most of those topics.
- Explore HTML 5, CSS3, and the future of markup.
- Learn how to put your content in front of the public and keep it there, regardless of how technologies and browsers may change in years to come.
The new mini site of the book, includes an embedded web font that work even on IE.
